King Street Theatre gives theatre goers a feast of enriching productions and aims to nurture all artists. King Street Theatre officially opened its newly refurbished theatres on Friday 27 April 2012. ( formerly known as Newtown Theatre). Under the management of Markus Weber, the Artistic/Managing Director of EMU Productions (theatre and music Pty Ltd), the totally revamped space is situated on the corner of King Street and Bray Street, Newtown; on the first floor above the South End Cafe. The entrance is on Bray Street. The heritage listed site, includes the original 100-seat theatre, with a brand new 60-seat Foyer Space for smaller performances, a green room/ dressing room for performers, sound and lighting equipment, and The Theatremaker Bar for guests to enjoy before, during and after shows.
