With only the one apartment available, it's perfectly for honeymooners, second honeymooners, or just that romantic weekend or week away with someone special because it's so private. We only take ONE booking at a time.
Fishtales owners and onsite managers, Steve Read More...and Kaz, are offering their spectacular two bedroom absolute waterfront holiday apartment, to discerning couples, for that perfect, worry free, adult holiday experience.
All quoted prices are based on two people (one room), however, a second, luxury, air conditioned, queen sized bedroom with ensuite,TV etc, can be added to the apartment and is available upon request , if you would like your friends to holiday with you, just ask Steve when enquiring, for a quote.
Your holiday here can be as private as you would like while still offering all the luxuries and lakeside activities for you to enjoy.
Fishtales is situated on the western side of Symes Bay on Smiths Lake (S 32.22.95 E 152.30.66), looking directly across the lake at Sandbar Beach. At night, Seal Rocks lighthouse can be seen from your apartment, adding a beautiful backlight across the lake.
Smiths Lake is quite unique as it is a salt water lake, but it remains isolated from the ocean for most of the time by Sandbar beach, this provides us with a beautiful, tideless saltwater habitat for all forms of watersports and wildlife.
You can paddle across the lake to Sandbar for a swim in the surf in our complimentary kayaks or go fishing, swimming, waterskiing and sunbaking on the beach right in front of your boutique apartment , no need to drive anywhere if you dont want to---its all right here. Boat hire is also available from the Frothy Coffee Boatshed just a few minutes away.
For the night out or when you don't feel like cooking ,the area has two clubs and several restaurants and take-aways, all within a short drive or you can be picked up and then, dropped back at "Fishtales" after your night out, by the club's courtesy buses.
Fishtales is exclusively for couples (sorry kids) and its absolute waterfront position is truly unique on Smiths. There is no better location on the lake and your apartment adjoins a lakefront reserve--- very private.
For the water enthusiasts, Smiths Lake is a salt water environment that is very popular for swimming, skiing and fishing and all outdoor watersports. It also supports all the fish species normally found along the east coast, bream, flathead, whiting, flounder, blackfish, etc.
You can put your boat in when you arrive and leave it on the buoy out front or parked on the beach, right in front of your apartment for the duration of your stay.
A full wash down area is located next to your apartment.
Smiths is also extremely popular with the sailboarding and kitesurfing fraternity as the clean sandy bottom and shallow water, in parts of the lake, makes it ideal for those speed runs.
Paddleboarders will also have a great time on Smiths Lake and Sandbar Beach.
Your hosts, Steve and Kaz are onsite if you need any assistance or advice during your stay.
No need to rave on any more about Smiths Lake or the fabulous beaches that surround it as there are many images available in our gallery or on the net for you to familiarise yourself with the area.
The apartment has local TV, Foxtel IQ, DVD and WiFi and two queen sized, air conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. (as previously stated, quoted price indications from Stayz website are for the "Honeymoon" suite only--Check with Steve if you require accommodation for two couples.)
