Lake Poorrarecup, north of Mount Barker, is an enormous freshwater lake with sandy beaches that presents a glorious setting for a myriad of activities. Enjoy a swim in the tantalizing calm waters or sunbathe on the soft sandy beach. Children will feel safe thanks to the gentle sloping shorelines. Launch your boat from the boat ramp and spend the day sailing the huge expanse of water. Watching the prolific displays of the resident water birds and enjoy the idyllic surroundings. Alternatively join many of the locals and water-ski or canoe on the calm flat water. Serve up a feast at the shaded picnic facilities before returning to the water or exploring the area on foot.
